    Today’s Literary Birthday
    Kenyan naturalist and author Joy Adamson was born on this day in 1910. She is best known for her book Born Free which recounts her experiences raising a lion cub names Elsa to maturity, then training her to be released into the wild. Adamson later wrote two more books about Elsa and her cubs. Born Free was made into a Hollywood movie in 1966.
