    Today’s Literary Birthday
    American poet Robinson Jeffers was born on this day in 1887. Jeffers poems are set on the Central coast of California around the town of Carmel and Big Sur. His philosophy of  inhumanism which said that mankind was ego-centric and indifferent to the “astonishing beauty of things” has made Jeffers very popular with environmentalists. He is best known for poems like The Roan Stallion and for a hit Broadway play adapting Euripides’ Medea.
